Activity Details
Tell children they are going to create their own Bingo card.
Tell caregivers they will be assistants.
Remind children that it is important to follow the rules and be a good listener. Tell them they need to follow instructions.
Show them each shape: heart, circle, square, rectangle, and triangle.
Ask: “What is this shape?” (Option: Have them find objects in the room that are the shape.)
Say the shape’s name and have children repeat after you.
Have the children count the number of sides on each shape with you.
Assign a child the job of passing out a grid worksheet to each child.
Assign a child the job of passing out glue for each child.
Assign a child the job of passing out colored paper for each child.
Ask an adult to pass out scissors.
Direct children to cut out the shapes in the worksheet (cut into squares).
Direct children to glue a shape in each box on their Bingo card. Tell them this is their Bingo card.
Sing Clean-Up Song while everyone puts trash and glue away.
Pass out chips (chips can be colored buttons, checkers, or whatever else you can find).
Tell children the rules of the game. “Listen when I call out a shape. Place a chip over the shape on your card. Cover entire board with chips (eight chips). Raise your hand when you have Bingo.”
