Activity Details
In advance:
- Cut cardstock into bookmark strips
- In landscape position, about 4 bookmarks per paper
- Using hole punch, punch a hole near the top of each bookmark, in the center
- Using black marker, write ALLY in open block letters across the bookmark, as large as possible
- Cut yarn/ribbon into 6” pieces, enough for each bookmark
- Loop yarn through each bookmark
- Make an example by coloring in your bookmark and writing your name on the back
- Place crayons and pencils at each table
- Place bookmarks out on a surface where children can choose one, before going to their table
For the craft:
- Show children your bookmark, make sure to show your name on the back
- Have children choose a bookmark and head to a table
- Have children color their bookmark however they wish to
- Encourage each child to try writing their names with a pencil on the back of their bookmark
