Preparation: Separate each item in a way that is easy to pass out. For example, place macaroni in zip lock bags, one for each child. The focus of this activity is cooperative set up and clean up.
Explain to the children that we will be making collages, and everyone needs to help set up.
Have ready one piece of construction paper for each child at a workstation.
Give each child a different type of item to place at every workstation. Emphasize that they are working together to do this.
Once everyone has supplies, children create collages by gluing items onto their construction paper. While children are creating their collages, encourage them to share extra supplies.
Leave time at end for cleanup. Tell children that they are responsible for bringing extra supplies to the teacher and cleaning up their workstations.
