Activity Details
Tape the Start sign to the floor or table. A few feet away tape down the Finish sign.
Explain what the signs mean and challenge the children to work together to build a course for the marble or car from start to finish. The marble or car needs be able to roll (with some pushes if needed) along the entire course without being picked up or touching the table or floor.
Encourage children to frequently test and redesign as needed. Remind them if something doesn’t work, we can learn from that and change it.
If you are working with a large group, consider creating multiple courses. If children find the challenge too easy or too hard, increase or decrease the distance.
